RORY PHELAN, owner of Phelan Good Stables, is an expert horseman with extensive equine experience and knowledge. Rory grew up on a working horse & cattle ranch and won his first roping competition at age 5. Rory has resided in the Texas Hill Country for over ten years and has presented several roping clinics
locally, as well as throughout Colorado, Kansas, California, and Arizona. Rory is an active member of the
National Senior Pro Rodeo Association (NSPRA). Rory and his partner, placed third in the team roping world standings in 2008 and Rory's horse was awarded honors as champion head horse of the year. Rory was a proud member/participant of the
Professional Rodeo Cowboy's Association (PRCA) for over 15 years.
Rory is a long time member of
World Series Team Roping and
USTRC and has participated in the World Series Team Roping Finals in Las
Vegas for the past three years. He has also participated in and supports Total
Team Roping (www.totalteamroping.com). He also sits on the board for the Hill

Rory's ability to train carriage horses is shown in the picture to the right, having gotten this yearling, Lucky, broke to pull a cart.
